This month’s newsletter focuses on living a purpose-led life. As I reflect on September, I’m inspired by what it represents to me: the start of spring, a season of hope, renewal, fresh beginnings, and growth.


As human beings, we are created to seek meaning in our lives, which drives us to find our purpose. Are you perhaps at a crossroads, seeking meaning and purpose in your life? This is the perfect time to evaluate what truly matters to you. Just like spring invites nature to renew itself, take this opportunity to renew your sense of purpose and connect with what is meaningful and important in your life.


Remember, living a purpose-led life isn’t about perfection. It’s about persistence, growth, and the courage to keep moving forward despite obstacles. Let’s draw on these qualities to inspire our own journeys toward purposeful living.


A 5-Step Framework

Finding and living your purpose can feel overwhelming, but breaking it down into smaller, actionable steps makes it more manageable. Here’s a simple framework to help you align your life with your purpose.


1. Self-Discovery

Set aside time for self-discovery. Identify your core values, passions, and strengths.


What Are Your Core Values?

Identifying your core values helps you create meaningful goals that align with your purpose and keep you motivated to achieve them. Examples of core values include integrity, respect, honesty, compassion, empathy, accountability, fairness, and humility.


Choose your top five core values, then consider your vision and current goals. List your top five values and reflect on how achieving your goals will positively impact each one.


2. Creating your Vision 

Once you’re clear on your values, create a vision for the life you want to live. Imagine what a fulfilling life looks like and how you want to impact the world.


Imagine it’s 3, 6, or 12 months from now, and you’ve reached—or are closer to—your goal. Capture how your future self feels, and use that to create your vision.


Here are some examples to guide you:

  • I am in my dream job.

  • I feel energised.

  • I feel fulfilled, knowing I am making a difference and having an impact.

  • I feel valued and am willing to go the extra mile because my actions have a positive effect.


Then, condense that vision into a clear statement that can guide your decisions. Here’s an example of a vision statement based on the above inputs:


 “In 3, 6, or 12 months, I am energised in my dream coaching role, making a meaningful impact. I feel valued and fulfilled, knowing my actions inspire others to embrace their worth and grow authentically.”


Once you have clarity around what you want, you will feel excited and motivated to achieve your goals.


3. Goal Setting & Alignment

Now that you know where you want to go, set goals that align with your vision. Break them down into manageable steps and ensure they reflect your values. Prioritise the actions that will bring you closer to your purpose.


Use the simple SMART goal-setting principles to set meaningful goals, they should be:

  • S: Specific

  • M: Measurable

  • A: Achievable

  • R: Realistic/Relevant

  • T: Time-Bound


4. Resilience & Growth Mindset

Living a purpose-led life isn’t always easy. Building resilience is essential for handling setbacks. Embrace challenges as opportunities for growth and surround yourself with supportive people who believe in your vision and journey.

 

5. Purposeful Living

Finally, integrate purpose into your daily life. Establish habits that reflect your vision and revisit your goals regularly. Living with purpose is an ongoing process, so be willing to adapt as you grow. Remember, growth happens throughout the journey!
