Woman In Blume: June 2026 Newsletter
Making Space for What Matters Greetings, Somewhere between January’s intentions and June’s reality, many of us stopped noticing how little we had left. Life has a way of filling every available space. Work, family, relationships, responsibilities, and the countless things that need our attention each day. We keep moving because we have to. We tell ourselves we’ll slow down when things settle. Yet somehow, that moment rarely comes. In the conversations I’ve been having with women lately, a common theme keeps emerging. So many are tired. Not simply in need of a good night’s sleep but carrying the kind of weariness that builds quietly over time. They are still showing up, still getting things done, but often at the expense of themselves. Sometimes we become so used to carrying on that we stop noticing what it is costing us. It can look like losing the joy you once found in everyday moments. Feeling disconnected from yourself. Finding it harder to be fully present. Living from one commitment to the next without asking what you need along the way.
Why Running on empty is not the same as living well Many women spend so much time caring for others, meeting expectations and holding everything together that they barely notice when their own reserves are running low. Constant responsibility has a way of becoming normal. That does not mean it is sustainable. Some of the heaviest things we carry cannot be seenThere is the emotional load of remembering, planning, anticipating and supporting. The quiet work of keeping relationships steady and making sure everyone else is okay. This unseen labour asks something of us too. Making space is not about doing less for the sake of itIt is about choosing what matters most and creating room to think, to breathe, to reconnect with yourself and to give your mind, body and soul the care they need. Take This With You As we move through the second half of the year, perhaps this is your invitation to pause for a moment and notice what your life has been telling you.
If this has resonated with you, you don’t have to carry everything at the same pace or in the same way. Making space often begins in the smallest moments of honesty with yourself. Sometimes the most meaningful thing we can do is stop pushing through and allow ourselves to replenish. Kind regards, Angelique Kalam |
