Greetings
Throughout October, the spotlight has been on mental health and wellbeing. As we head into the final stretch of the year, a common theme has come up in conversations this past month—exhaustion!
So, how can we prioritise mental health and wellbeing despite the pressures of work and home life? While exhaustion is common at this time of year, making a few intentional changes can help support us, ensuring we don’t feel overwhelmed or reach burnout.
In our fast-paced lives, mental health can easily get pushed aside. But caring for your mental wellbeing isn’t a luxury; it’s essential. Taking time to nurture yourself—mind, body, and soul—helps you thrive in every area of life.
Small Steps, Big Wins
You don’t need massive shifts to see progress. Celebrate the small wins, like saying no when you need a break or taking a moment to breathe in a busy day, step away from your desk intentionally. Each choice to put your mental health first is a victory.
Rest as a Priority
Rest isn’t just downtime—it’s a reset for your mind. Society pushes us to constantly do more, but one of the healthiest things we can do is pause. When you rest, you’re creating space to show up as your best self in all areas of life. Decide today to prioritise rest, what does this look like for you? It could be sleeping in, or spending an afternoon watching a movie or reading a book.
Boundaries as Acts of Self-Care
Setting boundaries with your time, energy, and relationships protects your wellbeing. Boundaries are not about shutting others out but giving yourself the room to prioritise what matters most. Think of boundaries as tools that help you stay balanced, energised, and empowered. Consider what area of your life needs a firm boundary and decide today what action needs to take place to make this happen.
Letting Go of Perfection
The pressure to be perfect is exhausting and never-ending. Instead of aiming for perfection, focus on finding peace. When we choose peace over perfection, we experience more ease and joy. Let yourself off the hook—your worth isn’t in what you achieve; it’s in who you are.
The Power of Connection
Seeking support isn’t a sign of weakness. Talking to someone—a friend, coach, or mental health professional—reminds you that you’re not alone. Every woman needs a circle of support, and reaching out when you need it is a true strength.
Embracing Every Emotion
Wellbeing isn’t about feeling positive all the time; it’s about letting yourself feel whatever comes up. Sadness, joy, frustration, and peace—they’re all part of the experience. Give yourself permission to feel fully, and remember: your emotions are valid.
As women, we juggle so much, and it’s easy to put ourselves last. But this month, make a commitment to yourself to prioritise your mental health and wellbeing. Whether it’s small daily actions or setting new boundaries, remember that caring for your mental wellbeing isn’t selfish—it’s the foundation for a thriving, fulfilling life.
